Great all-around utility knife – slimmer profile.
I love Stanley utility knife products. I have this one and two “Fat Max” Stanley utility knives. I like this one for it’s slender design as it is less heavy than the Fat Max and fits better in my work apron. I also like the safety cutting slot on the bottom of the knife which allows you to cut threads or plastic cords safely without extending the blade – this feature is not found on the Fat Max. The on-board storage of blades of this design is only 3, as compared with the 5 blade storage of the Fat Max, but I find the blades on this design are somewhat easier to change than the on the Fat Max handles.

    Good practical design
I have been using this type of utility knife for about 20 years, they are very durable and practical with the blade storage conveniently in the handle, the blades come out and are replaced very easily. I’m glad this design is still available today.

    It. Good. :’^) 9/10
The storage compartment is difficult to open. I push down on the release but I feel like it gets caught on something. I have to push it as far as I can and then CAREFULLY but FoRCefULLY pull at the compartment from the other side. Kinda scary,, I had one a box cutter like this one (same brand) with red accents and it opened up real easy. OH WELL. Maybe I have to crack it open to see whats what.Love that it has a storage for extra blades ANYWAYS. Takes the standard size and easy to change out the blade itself. It’s got some heft to it. It rattles… there’s a rattling sound because of the extra blades n’such. The lil’ wire cutter thing is great. No belt clip but, like, there’s a loop on the bottom… you can put a jump ring through it…hang it up with your keys…. wear it around…. . .. . /jokeObviously not an every day carry but it’s just what I needed for work ayyyOverall an alright replacement for my red accent one r.i.p

Perfect box cutter- durable, easy to change blades, I’ve used these for over 20 years.
I’ve used these in construction and around the house. Easy to change blades, durable, nice to have blades in the handle. I have one on the house, at work, and in my garage. They don’t fold down small, but having the extra blades there when you need them is more important for me. I’ve used them for almost everything: cutting boxes, school projects, construction, art projects, you name it. Great product, and I’m glad they still make them. A must in every toolbox and home.

    Poor Quality Control on Slider
The carriage in which the blade slides had a slight warp to where the blade would not sit flush in the carriage. This meant the slider would bind up if the locking screw was tightened full. I had to leave it a bit looser than I would like for the slider to work, causing the body to open a little during use. Going to try to bend the carriage to fit the blades appropriately, but I shouldn’t have to do that. This is not the quality Stanley used to provide in its products – I’m disappointed.

    Excellant Utility Knife
I really like this Stanley Utility Knife. The improvements over their older basic one is worth a couple extra dollars. Changing blades takes only a second, and the blades are stored in the handle within a pop-out tray (looks like it holds about 3-4 blades). No more unscrewing and trying to put back together the knife. When the blade is retracted there is still a spot to cut string or other similar items without opening the blade. Its similar to a safety cutter used for opening pacakges. There aren’t much directions provided as others have said, but its pretty self-explanatory. A quick Google or YouTube search wiil yield plenty of answers/help if you need it.Overall…excellent product that I would not hesitate to buy again and recommend.
