Good clean sound
I have two pairs of these speakers, one in my kitchen ceiling and one in my dining room wall. Both installations sound great. The highs are very crisp, especially thanks to being able to aim the tweeters. The lows are respectable considering the size and lack of tuned enclosure, but obviously these don’t create room-shaking bass. If you wanted more bass in the room with these, I’d recommend an in-floor sub to keep the nice uncluttered look in the room. Installation was very easy. The depth of the rotating mounting tabs was enough to handle even my very difficult kitchen ceiling which consisted of 0.5″ drywall on top of 0.25″ of plaster on top of 0.5″ of wood planks (that combination was fun to cut through). My only disappointment was that the wire connections are spring push terminals instead of more rugged and secure binding posts. With that in mind, I would recommend securing your wire to the stud inside your wall somewhere near your cutout so the weight of the wire isn’t pulling on the connectors (so it doesn’t come out over time). My only other advice would be not to install these on an outside wall (I didn’t) if you plan to play your music loud and have neighbors nearby. Trust me, they will hear every thump of bass since these are mounted in the walls.

I bought them used so I got them really cheap but they look and sound great.i put them out in my garage. The one thing I did not think of with them being wall mounted was how loud they are on the other side of the wall. Now you don’t have two plies of drywall and insulation to absorb the sound ,like if you were to hang a speaker.just something to think about when you decide.the speakers are worth the money they sound good

Solid price and just as advertised so I ended up buying a second pair. I bought this to replace the existing speakers in 2 zones in my house so it was a 10 minute install, not having to cut out any dry wall. The fastening concept worked out very well and sure beats screwing 4 inch nails into a mount like my current ceiling speakers. The sound is as good as I could have hoped and they feel sturdy and well built. If I decide to buy anymore I’ll get these again but for now the patio and living room each have these.

They’re great speakers. Wonderful sound. They’re driven by an Onkyo TXSR605 receiver, and the combination is perfect. I’m not an audiophile, just someone who wanted to build a nice theater.My only complaint, which is very minor, is that the tabs on these speakers are not as good as the ones on comparable Bose flush-mount speakers. The tabs on Bose speakers that I installed 2 years ago positioned themselves and held the speaker against the drywall perfectly. These tabs have a tendency to “catch” on the speaker housing, and then they never squeeze the drywall. When you install these, make sure every tab is free and clear before you tighten any of the screws. Otherwise you may get 3 or 4 of the screws tightened down and realize that 4th or 5th tab is messed up, and you’ll have to start over. You might want to “help” the tabs get into position with a flathead screwdriver or a butter knife while you screw them in. Once you get them positioned and tightened down, the speaker is solid and doesn’t vibrate or move or anything.

Sound clarity is amazing
I have been a big fan of Polk since they started. I am a huge audio nut. My movie room is all Definitive Technology. I was looking to get sound to travel throughout the rest of the house for parties.These speaker sound amazing , and honestly may even be better then my very expensive towers.The acoustics are some of the greatest I’ve heard.

These are some great speakers. I bought the smaller RC55i speakers and used them for my rear channel. I wanted to put the volume up on these to see how loud they could get so I installed the speakers and connected them to the front channel of my receiver. I connected my center channel as well so that I had only three speaker working (plus my sub woofer). I watched an episode of Glee and the sound coming from these speakers was great. I turned it up loud and had no problems.My only advice is to install them away from any beams in the ceiling. My house came pre-wired so I had an existing hole where they provided an outlet with the cable coiled in the ceiling. The tabs that come with these speaker or any other speakers are similar to a post-install junction box (when you tighten the screw the tabs extend past the speaker housing and they secure to the drywall). I’m sure the instructions will say the same, but I was too excited to read them and I didn’t pay attention to the install instructions.

Have these installed as my rears in a Dolby atmos 5.1.2 setup. Sound great and easy to install as I had the wiring installed before drywall went up. I needed a slim design due to a pocket door, and these were the thinnest I could find. They work great as my sub takes care of the lows.
