Best tight gap clips for composite deck boards
I have spent hours and hours researching deck spacing clips trying to find something in the 1/8 inch spacing instead of the 1/4 inch spacing for Deckorator composite decking boards. The vast majority of the clips are 1/4 inch with screws that show between the boards. I tried one brand that advertised a 3/32 inch space, but the clips were too wide when fitting into the grooves of the boards and did not allow the proper gapping. So I tried this FRUH German design and it worked perfectly. The 1/8 inch gapping is a much nicer look and the screws do not show between the boards. Plus, the stainless steel will out live the plastic competitors by many years.

Much better than plastic!
Worked perfectly for installing composite deck boards, much higher quality than the plastic ones offered at the hardware store.

great for trex boards
Why did you pick this product vs others?:worked as i wanted to get the gap smaller for the trex decking boards. had to get new screws however since the screws supplied are so short.

The Trex size
The Trex size worked well. They space just short of 3/16 inch. Screws are short but there is no need for longer.

Not enough screws, not long enough, poor customer service.
Limited # of screws, cant find longer screws, or buy ones that fit at a hardware store. Emailed company twice asking for guidance or a link to buy more screws or longer screws and did not get a reply. Would have just gone with the camo system or another clip system with recessed holes in the clips.

Happy with Cost and Quality
We were debating on redoing a wood deck to composite for a non profit. Cost was a factor and was holding us up on doing the project. We were happy to find these clips here as they cut our cost nearly in half from in-store prices. I used these with TimberTech grooved boards and they fit correctly and can get tight against the groove. It takes more than one person to do a great job holding the board tight while securing the next row of fasteners. So I would definitely recommend also buying the spacers they sell. Which are pretty cheap for a pack of 20. Agree with others that one per joist is definitely a requirement unless you have incredibly level joists. Otherwise due to the flex in composite decking you will hear it slap the joist while walking on the place you didn’t put a fastener.

Superior quality and simple to install
I’ve been building for 16 years and recently decided to tackle my own deck project at home. After a lot of research, I chose these hidden deck fasteners because they’re metal—far superior to the standard plastic ones that often crack or degrade over time. I started decking this weekend, and I couldn’t be more impressed. These fasteners are a breeze to install, and the quality is evident as soon as you handle them. They’re sturdy, well-designed, and make the process smooth and efficient. If you’re looking for durability and ease of use, these are worth every penny!

Absolute best hidden fasteners for Trex deck!
I spent hours researching and ordering like ten different hidden fasteners, because I didn’t like the Trex hidden fastener, the gap was too large between the planks (3/16″ to 1/4″).So I tried out all the ones I bought and this Fruh one is hands down the best, sturdy, solid construction, easy to install, and the gap is half the size, about 1/8″ (between 3-4mm) which looks so much nicer on my deck. No worries of kids fingers getting stuck or high heels tripping because of the gap. Water can still go down easily and the deck can breathe so mold won’t grow (if there is no gap, then that could happen).I saved you a lot of time, trust me, if you are looking for a smaller gap than Trex, you found your fastener. Remember to choose the taller one for Trex, 8.5mm high fits the grooved edge perfectly.

These fit Timber Tech boards perfectly. The cost per each works out slightly more than the TimberTech fasteners, though the TimberTech fasteners minimum quantity box size was 175 pieces, and I only needed about 80, so didn’t want a bunch of extra fasteners.
