Essential for building a deck
This is a simple to assemble tool that is nearly essential to own due to the low quality that most lumber seems to be these days. Having the ability to straiten boards as you lay them when building a deck is super helpful and makes for a better finished product! The tool itself is well made and looks like it will last quite some time. This is also a good value for the money.

Works OK, WILL slip off and splinter the edge of the deck boards
I experienced some of the same trials with the board straightening tool as I saw in other reviews after I purchased the tool. Had I seen those reviews, I would have selected a different product. The tool does seem frail and is a challenge to place on 2 x joist with deck tape installed. I also experienced multiple instances where the pressure wheel would slip up off the edge of the board and splintering the grain on the edge of the board causing exposed splinters. The mounting bolts work lose slowing down the work while they’re tightened. My advice, check the other tools that may be stronger and easier to use.
