From Tungsten to Daylight: A Photographer’s Oddly Specific Analysis of a Pretty Decent Lamp
QUICK SPECS- Height Range: 52″-62″ (adjustable via locking screw)- Light Temperatures: Advertised 3000K/4000K/5000K- Actual Measured Temps: 3300K/4735K/6800K (Yes, I’m that guy)- Includes: Surprisingly, a three-way LED bulb- Style: Modern with subtle bronze finishTHE GOOD STUFF✓ Height adjustability that actually makes sense✓ Consistent brightness across color temperatures (physics nerds will appreciate)✓ Sturdy enough to not topple when your cat inevitably tries to climb it✓ Perfect companion for a fancy leather chair and your deepest contemplations✓ No app required (finally, a smart feature that doesn’t need software updates)THE NOT-SO-GOOD STUFF- That mysterious wire protection cap situation (more on that below)- Locking mechanism might get cranky with excessive adjustments- Marketing department needs a crash course in Kelvin temperaturesASSEMBLY HEADS UPLet’s talk about that wire protection cap that had me questioning my IQ for a moment. There’s a plastic sleeve on the pole that won’t fit through the hole despite what the printed instructions suggest. Here’s the real deal: remove it, ignore the existential crisis, and proceed with assembly. The online instructions mention this, but the printed ones seem to exist in a parallel universe where physics works differently.PHOTOGRAPHER’S CORNERFor the technically inclined: The color temperature readings are fascinating – we’ve got almost perfect tungsten at 3300K, a “soft white” at 4735K, and what I can only describe as “aggressive daylight” at 6800K. Also, all three settings hang on the magenta side of things- not too far off, especially the tungsten setting. Always more pleasing to the eye than green light. The consistent light output across temperatures is a nice touch, though the warm setting naturally feels dimmer due to our eyes’ spectral sensitivity (sorry, couldn’t help the science).FINAL THOUGHTSFor a studio setting or anywhere you need adjustable lighting without the complexity of modern smart devices, this lamp delivers. It’s like finding a manual transmission in a world of automatics – refreshingly simple yet completely functional. Just don’t trust the printed instructions like you’d trust a gas station sushi.

Good reading light
This was very easy to assemble and seems very sturdy so far. It looks just as pictured. The height is adjustable, which is very helpful. The light is bright at the top setting. The only unusual thing is how the color/brightness levels adjust. They can only be changed by turning the lamp on and off. A little weird, but they do work. I find it great for reading and can lower the brightness is less light is needed. A great value for the very reasonable price.

Lamp doesn’t stand up straight due to inferior locking adjustment knob.
This lamp doesn’t stay together very well. Once it is put together and everything is tightened as much as possible, the connecting piece moves, spins and/or tilts. It’s a nice looking lamp and I like the settings for the light varieties, but it doesn’t stand up straight and doesn’t look well built. I love how it can be raised or lowered and how the lamp shade can be adjusted to point up or down. That locks into place with no issues. The actual lamp pole connection is the issue. Looks cheap in the room. Lamp has a lot of protentional because you can adjust the settings, height and lamp shade, but now I have to glue or use electrical tape to get the lamp to straighten up and it’s brand new.

Very sturdy and attractive
This is a nice looking, substantial floor lamp. It’s not difficult to put together. The thick black nut comes off; thereby allowing the pole to push through and screw into the other pole on the extension arm. If you run your finger around it, you can feel the break and easily take it off. I promise, you can do it. 🙂 It’s a “steal.” I finally found an attractive substantial floor lamp, some nice guy delivered it to my front door, and I got it at a bargain price. Yep! 5 stars UPDATE: I liked it so much, I ordered a 2nd lamp, and yes, it’s just as nice.

Total junk, from day one. Sagging and twisted like a soggy pretzel.
Stem is VERY thin, low quality, material & came with stripped “threads” pressed into the thin material of the shaft. New, out of box, it sagged and twisted like a wet pretzel. Considered trying “JB Weld” to fix the “threads” but that would fail the first time it was moved. Going to just throw in trash. Total junk, from day one. Am currently looking for a decent, solidly built, replacement.
