Best solution for heating a 6 foot cone
Lights easily, and quickly. Small enough to set on a low table and sit next to when it’s cold out. It’s 23° right now and I’m sitting on my front porch sipping and smoking, but my hands don’t sting. Get the clip on folding heat reflectors to keep the wind off of it.

    do not buy
Does not produce heat. ran it for about 10 mins to make sure it warmed up, and had to hold my hand about 1/2 inch from top of heater to feel any heat coming off it. Heat from the sides and under the umbrella is the same thing, you need to get very close to it to feel any heat. Will not work as a table top heater as advertised, you cannot feel any heat if it is on the table and you are sitting on the chairs.I am not sure if i got a bad one, or it is just bad product. Don not recommend. Would not buy again. would return if i hadn’t damaged the box opening it.

    Nice little heater.
It’s a nice little heater. I do mean little though. I would love to have a larger version of this type of heater for our back patio, but we (thankfully) have a roof for the patio. Roof is only about 7′ tall, which is a no go for a big heater. A smaller version, like this, will have to do. And it does. It sits on a table top, of course, and you really need to be right beside the table to stay warm on a cool night. For that, it does the trick. It’s nice down to about 50 degree weather (right next to it). Below that, and you really want a higher output heater. This heater works well and does what it should for an 11K BTU heater, but understand what you’re getting. We actually have other higher BTU heater when it gets really cold, but this one serves it’s purpose.Assembly wasn’t too bad. The base weight is a bit of a pain, but just turn the whole thing upside down to attach. And if you plan on using it regularly or for more than a few hours at a time, get an adapter so that you can attach it to a 15-20 propane tank. They’re cheap and well worth it for this heater. The 1 lb tanks don’t last long.

Fiddly to get started, but works great if you follow these directions
When I was considering buying this heater I noticed the reviews largely fell into very good or very bad. The very bd ones were mostly people who couldn’t get it to work and this is because it IS tricky to get it to work if, as I was, you are not experienced at working with devices powered by propane cannisters. However, once you get the hang of it, it works very well. I gave it fewer stars on “easy to assemble” because that was the closest summary statistic for ease of getting it to work. Assembly of the heater itself is trivial. To get it to work, you need to connect a 1lb propane cannister. First, for complete newbies, the cannisters ship with a black screwed on cap. Take that off and take off the small black cover on the tip of the heater’s connector and you will see that the cannister easily screws onto the connector. Second, perhaps the best advice of all the reviews I read said to light it for the first time IN THE DARK. In daylight it is hard to tell whether the pilot light is lit, making for a very frustrating experience. So wait until dusk to try it. Then, watch the manufacturer’s video here on the amazon page and do Exactly what they say. In particular, hold the knob in and 90 degrees to the left for a FULL MINUTE before pushing the starter button and keep it there while pushing the starter button and then for about 15-20 seconds AFTER the pilot lights. Especially the first time, you may need to push the button 15 times before the pilot lights. Make sure you push the button (each time) to the point where it clicks – you have to push it fairly hard. Resist the temptation to let go of the knob when you see the pilot flame. Hold it for another 15-20 seconds to let things heat up. Then release the knob, push in again and turn to catch the whole circle and adjust the level of heat. Once you have done this a few times, you get the hang of it and the pilot often ignites on a couple of pushes of the red button. It is nice and stable with a heavy bottom and puts out a good amount of heat. The one lb cannisters last about two hours. You can use a hose attachment to a 20 lb of propane tank, but I have not done that yet. Enjoy!

    The Worst!
This heater worked maybe a handful of times. I bought the warranty protection for it and no one will move on it. The company is now asking me to disassemble and figure out where the leak is myself. They refuse to replace the product or work with us. What a waste of money. I will be careful to NEVER buy from this company again. The product comes assembled so asking me to disassemble is out of scope for what the end user should be responsible for.I want to return it and get a new heater but apparently that is not an option and I am out of my window for Amazon. We bought before the winter season in hopes of using it this winter and we have never been able to.

    Not easy to assemble
I have built/assembled things all my life. The directions on this would baffle the best of them. Huge gaps in the instructions. Some places where they could add some safety warnings (edges are razor sharp (wear gloves), Styrofoam may be clogging vents (clean it out before assembly), which way is UP, etc… The pre-assembled parts were not “straight” out of the box, some screws had to be backed out to put the new screws in place, then tightened back up. Had to realign everything on a second pass. They tell you how to light the pilot, but a picture of where it is so you can do a visual on it would be nice. You have to wonder about the quality when the manufacture plate is falling off right out of the box. I felt no obligation to press it back in place.Once we got it assembled and lit, it produced some great heat. The device is solid and simple. I can see it lasting for years if properly maintained.Would I buy it again. Yes. Would I recommend it to everyone. No. You really need experience in assembling items to overcome the instructions.

    Very poor heat output…
Although this is made quite well and the pilot is a plus, but it does not heat up to an 11000, at all. Even the mesh doesn’t get red. We have another 11000 and it gets really nice and hot. At best it will warm you up on a sunny day. Very disappointed.

After 1 year of usage, it stop functioning. I had several similar heathers to this one that also died after 1-2 year of use. i purchased a filter since they suggested it might help to avoid cluthing the system ( not sur hoe to say this in English). I can light the lighter but when I turn the boton to light the heater, it shuts down. Overall, was very good while functioning but unfortunately these heaters never last. If you are lucky 1- 3 years. This one came short. I like these heaters but do not expect them to last….event with a filter. I will probably purchase another one (my forth). In Quebec we hare a provincial warranty and I will probably take legal action agains them.BestA real reviewer

Great little heater! Assembly Required. Wrench provided, Screwdriver not. Bolts poor quality as I had 2 bolts with casting imperfections which made them impossible to use.Overall though it’s great

Gives off a good amount of heat. Works well. The little tanks do frost up but I think that happens with all these table top heaters. Great for fall movie night on the deck.

The heater works well enough. The stainless steel is already showing rust and all I had done was put it together and put it into the basement for storage
