ACCURATE: More sensors = More accuracy. Conventional stud finders have 1 or 2 sensors. The ProSensor MAX had 13, making it the most accurate stud sensing tool on the market. The ProSensor MAX has a max detection depth of 2 1/2″ for thick walls. The precision LEDs track the location of studs while displaying the center and edges simultaneously.
EASY: No calibration required. Just place the ProSensor MAX against the wall and press and hold the button to begin scanning. Unlike other stud sensors that give false readings, the ProSensor MAX allows you to start scanning anywhere, even over a stud.
TWO DETECTION MODES: In mode 1, the ProSensor MAX operates as a normal stud finder. In Mode 2, the ProSensor MAX detects studs through two or more layers of drywall (common in condos, townhomes, and home theaters), a single layer of sheetrock plus a layer of OSB or plywood (common in earthquake-resistant walls), plywood and MDF surfaces, lath and plaster (common in homes built prior to 1960), and large tile.
DISPLAYS FULL WIDTH OF STUDS: See more than just a point on the wall. The ProSensor MAX’s wide LED display shows the center and edges of studs simultaneously for single studs, double studs, and irregular configurations that other stud finders cannot detect.
DURABLE: Ideal for professionals and projects around the house, the ProSensor MAX is both accurate and durable.
CONVENIENT EXTRAS: Built-In Bubble Level, Low Battery Indicator, and Handy Pencil Caddy. Requires two AA batteries (not included).

Get one now, and end your search for a good stud finder!
I love, love, LOVE, my new Franklin stud finder!!!The first box I received had obviously been opened, emptied, and resealed, most likely well before my purchase. However, my customer service experience was easy, fast, and hassle-free. After only one or two short messages to the seller explaining the situation, I quickly received the actual tool the next day.I’m a very amateur carpenter/picture hanger/honey-doer. I have searched for, bought, and tried dozens of different brand, type, model, size, and priced, stud finders in the past 40+ years. You name it, and I’ve owned and tried it. But in all that time I have never found a single stud finder that I was satisfied with. Not a single one was accurate enough, or consistent enough to ever consider my search for a quality stud finder over with for good.No matter which stud finder I tried, I always had to poke extra holes in the sheetrock to find both edges of the stud, in order to be absolutely sure where the center was located. Most of the things I hang in the garage or inside our house are heavy, and I’d much rather over-build than risk a catastrophic failure and possible injury to someone. So for me, accurately finding the stud’s center is critical to installing the lag bolts and heavier screws I normally use. After watching a few videos and reading many reviews I decided to take a chance on the Franklin Sensors ProSensor MAX, despite the steep (for me) price. As soon as my new unit actually came in I took it out to try. I can happily, and with certainty, say that my decades-long stud finder quest has finally come to a successful and very happy end.I long ago reached the point where I dreaded having to hang anything on our walls heavier than an 8″x10″ picture, or a calendar. But, no more! You cannot beat this stud finder for quickly and accurately locating wood or metal studs. No way! As fast as you can press a button and steadily slide the unit horizontally across the wall a couple of feet, you can find both edges and center of a stud. I’d say easily within 10-15 seconds. Plus you don’t need to poke any extra holes in your sheetrock to double check your tool, not one! The row of bright LED’s instantly indicate the whole stud, side to side, and center, with no discernable error of any significance that I could tell.I recall reading some reviews claiming short battery life, but that hasn’t been my experience. I’ve used mine over two months on the initial set of batteries, but I do intend to get the rechargeable battery pack once this first set is done. It’s not the beefiest-feeling tool, but feels sturdy enough that I’m not worried about it. With a little care it should last for a lifetime of home use, no problem. I’m so happy with my purchase that I ended up buying a professional-grade padded tool case to keep mine in, for a lot of extra protection and peace of mind. After many uses over a couple of months, I can confidently say that my long search for a stud finder I’m completely happy with is finally over! I’m very happy with the price I paid for a tool that repeatedly, and without fail, operates as easily, quickly, and accurately as is advertised. For me, that’s a very rare find. I tell everyone I know and work with about my new Franklin stud finder, and I recommend they get one as soon as possible and end their search, too.

    You want this one.
If you’re considering this, just buy it – it’s the right stud finder.I, like most people, hated my old zircon studfinder. It was a midrange one with “deep scan” and electrical sensing – it could rarely find studs in my condo walls with double drywall and often “found” non-existent studs or that the entire wall was one giant electrical alert; it was useless. The first time I mounted a TV on my wall, I ended up just opening up the wall to look, which worked but wasn’t ideal. After moving into a new place and my girlfriend excitedly buying a new frame TV, I decided something had to change and, probably like you if you’re reading this review, spent a LOT of time looking at reviews of studfinders, comparing the M210 to the pro sensor Max, etc. To make a long story short: if you live in a condo, or if you’ve got plaster walls, or if you’re just tired of your stud finder not working, the pro sensor Max is what you want. This thing it’s MASSIVE but it’s incredible: slap it on the wall and it’ll just show you exactly where the stud is, no swiping around, no beeping everywhere. This is especially nice for hanging things which come with templates like TVs; I’ll usually mark the studs, position the template, and then do a final check by putting the studfinder on top of the template directly where I plan to drill to confirm – it’s a great way to avoid surprises. The switch to go between deepscan and normal is easy to switch while you’re on the wall, which is great: I usually start in normal if I’m not sure of the wall, and switch to deep if I’m not getting results. I thought the pencil caddy was a gimmick when I ordered it but it’s incredibly useful; no more finding the stud, realizing you don’t have a pencil, and then needing to put everything down to grab one. Yes, this thing is 2x as expensive as the competition, but think about what your time and comfort are worth. I’ve now used this to hang two TVs, including one on plaster/lathe, and it just /works/. Nice when that happens, right? My only gripe is that for the price it should just come with the case – if you’re buying this thing, I’d recommend shelling out the extra $20 for a case.A few quick q&As:-Why not just use a $10 magnet or bang on the wall with a fist? Yeah I’ve got one of those magnets too, and I’ll still use it sometimes to double check, but this guy gives a higher level of precision on the actual location so you’re not hitting the edge of the stud, can account for warped studs, and frankly, the contractors that built my home were idiots so I don’t trust that they actually hit studs with all their screws, plus I assume if a magnet is working fine for you, you wouldn’t have made it this far in my review. Re: hitting it with your fist, good luck doing that with double drywall or plaster, hope you like spackling lots of test holes.-How big is it?? It’s a chonker. Like seriously this thing is huge.Oh also if you turn it sideways and move it vertically on the wall, you can use it to find blocking – pretty cool right??

It really works through thick walls.
Fast shipping and great quality. It really works through OSB and drywall walls. Excellent detection and very accurate. Haven’t used it long enough to determine battery life. This is better than any other brand hands down.

    Best stud finder ever
This tool works great through old plaster walls. Was instrumental in drilling holes for drapery.

Not sure it’s worth the price
Works ok but everything is a 1 1/2 inch wide target. It doesn’t really give an indication other than 1 1/2 inches. All the extra indication leds might give a more precise target. For the cost I’m really not impressed.

This is a big chunky mutha! I had no idea how big this thing was till it arrived. I’ve had a few other models of their stud finders and they are the best out there. This seems to work even better than the others. Only neg is it will take up a lot of space in the tool bag!

Wow! I’ll never miss a stud again. The first time I used this on old drywall, I immediately understood why it costs about twice as much as most other “good” stud finders. The accuracy is outstanding, it locks onto studs quickly, and it works where others struggle. If you want dependable results, this is the one to get.

identifying joist is a nightmare. This usually involves the magnetic stud finder to pick up the nail heads and tapping on the ceiling or walls. However, after using this it’s so easy to find the timbers in the wall and ceilings.Identified the trimming around a staircase being doubled up. Very easy to use and would highly recommend.
