This model replaced a Frigidaire dehumdifier, and it removes humidity much faster.The Frigidaire dehumidifier would keep you up at night with all the plastic parts buzzing and vibrating,where the Waykar unit is quiet enough to run in your bedroom.The other feature I like is the drain pump which totally eliminates the hassle of continually having to empty the water reservoir,especially if you live in a high humidity area like I do.Overall,the Waykar YDZ-150PM is a well built unit that performs well.

This is a great product! It works really well. I appreciate the fact that it has an auto function so that it doesn’t have to run continuously. I also appreciate that it has a drain valve so that we don’t have to rely on the tank. I received an error after about a year that caused it to stop working, but customer support has been very helpful in instructing me on how to address the error.

6 Bad Units in Under 90 Days
I bought a fleet of these things, thinking I’d found the perfect – top rated – solution to my moisture problems, but instead, I got a series of bad units.I bought one of these white units: “150 Pints with Pump for Spaces up to 7,000 Sq.Ft.”Loved it! Worked so well I purchased a second – and a third was right around the corner.What I quickly discovered:150 Pints? No way does this unit manage that kind of humidity.7,000 square feet? That’s warehouse territory and it barely managed a room ¼ of the size.More like 60 pints and a decent-sized basement.Capacity aside – It removed humidity and pumped like a champ. Auto setting worked perfectly. I suspected the humidity reading was off – much lower than actual which is bad when you’re trying to monitor and reduce moisture – but it kept running and sucking up water so that number was not crucial. It ran quietly and kept the humidity down. With thousands of 5-star reviews – I still believed Waykar was one of the highest rated brands. Two weeks later I ordered 3 more dehumidifiers from the brand.Unit #2: Dead on Arrival. After lugging this massive commercial unit #2 to my basement, it would not even power on. No juice. Nada.Unit #3: Began to experience coil freeze-up within a few weeks. The auto setting did not stop when the humidity was reached. The auto-defrost feature appeared non-functional, causing the coils to ice over constantly.Units #4, #5, and #6Ranging from 1 weeks to 5 weeks – ALL of them failed with the exact same problems. Freezing coils.Control panel claiming the room was 27-30% – desert-dry – even though the room humidity was at least 50%. It’s either miscalibrated or hallucinating.The room wasn’t at 28%. The machine was wrong. Since this machine has humidity delusions, the auto setting did not kick-in. It never stopped when reaching the target humidity and the coils froze every couple of hours.When it freezes it stops collecting water, the pump stops, and the machine gets hot like a little space heater. Now I’m afraid of fire or electrical problems.But wait, I thought these had “auto-defrost?”No. This machine has an “inside-dry” button you have to push manually when the coils ice over. Kind of leads me to believe they know these units freeze. They know that their auto-defrost claim is a delusion. If they have to install a special button to de-ice the units that can’t defrost on their own.Remember Unit #1 – the original model I loved – It also succumbed to the same death in just under 90 days. I’m simply too afraid to run them in fear of fire.Customer service was always prompt and polite, but who has time to troubleshoot, take photos, and pack and unpack these large heavy units week after week. I needed one to work so I could about my life. Babysitting these expensive problematic units was a complete nuisance.I’m genuinely puzzled by the number 5 star reviews this brand receives. I tried six units and all of them died quickly.In the meantime, I had to buy 2 more at the local home improvement store and they work perfectly.Not only do I not recommend, but I’m strongly suggest you don’t.

J’ai acheté le déshumidificateur Waykar 80 «pints» modèle YDZ-80. Il a été commandé le 30 septembre et livré le 2 octobre. Bravo Amazon!!!!!. J’ai attendu au 3 octobre pour le mettre en marche pour m’assurer que le fluide caloporteur soit bien à sa place. Ce déshumidificateur remplace un vieux Sunbeam. Déjà en le déballant je m’aperçois que bien qu’il soit de la même taille, ce Waykar est au moins 30% moins lourd. Bravo Waykar!!!.Depuis qu’il a été mis en marche, l’appareil a réussi à abaisser le taux d’humidité de la maison (3500) pi2 de 66% à 49% en 3 jours et le maintenir entre 45% et 50% avec un minimum d’énergie. Quelle différence fait cet appareil «EnergyStar». Photo 1.Le panneau de contrôle rend l’appareil très simple à utiliser (photo 2). On peut même le faire fonctionner sur un horaire programmé pour être utilisé la nuit quand le coût de l’électricité est plus faible. Combiné avec la fonction arrêt-départ automatique quand le niveau d’humidité requis est atteint, on utilise une énergie minimale pour le maintien d’un taux d’humidité confortable.L’option d’un drainage continu de l’eau est aussi très «cool» (photo 3-4). Plus besoin de surveiller le niveau d’eau accumulé dans le bac et de le vider régulièrementDe plus, le filtre est très accessible pour le nettoyage (photo 5).Donc, jusqu’à maintenant je suis très satisfait du rendement de l’appareil.

Après un été d’utilisation il ne fonctionnait plus. Nous nous en servons pour le sous-sol mais l’hiver pas besoin on chauffe au bois. J’ai rebranché l’appareille se printemps pour enlever l’humidité, après deux jour nous nous somme rendu compte qu’il ne faisait que du vent. Ma garantie est fini depuis avril, alors je trouve cela très dispendieux pour seulement que 4-5 mois d’utilisation… Il a même l’air d’un neuf… le filtre n’est même pas sale.J’ai contacter Waykar sur leur site via le chat. En 24 heures il m’ont envoyé un premier e-mail pour me poser quelque question et j’ai même envoyé des photos.Le lendemain je recevais un autre e-mail de leur part pour m’offrir des solutions.Vraiment très satisfaite du services.
