Thick, don’t rely on the ties
Been using these bags for years both for very heavy stuff (demolition trash) and light stuff that tends to break bags (tree trimming, for instance)…. They’ve always been reliable. The bags are thick, no question, but they are not flexible, so they can break, especially from things that have pointy edges….. I’ve found that they hold up even when something pokes through them — at least enough so that a second bag can be brought in. Regardless of uses, I’ve NEVER had the bottom of one fall out or have a bag completely fail when lifted with heavy stuff — even if something pokes through the sides (not the bottom).As for the ties….. I don’t find them reliable & don’t use them…. The types of stuff these bags are designed for would not be held in with twist-ties. Expect to have to tie the bag and expect it to put up a fight (thick and slippery makes for difficult tying).

Like many people, we have struggled with the best system for cat poop. We’ve tried all the gadgets. With two cats, the litter is so heavy that we were dealing with double-bagging regular trash bags that would rip sometimes regardless.We were inspired to try these smaller contractor bags after using a spare 42-gallon size bag for litter one day. I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if they had these in a smaller version?” Boom. I have ordered this product several times. I am happy with these great bags and at a good value. The latest box though has 2 inch separations on the lower seam corner of each bag – (must be a manufacturing defect) which makes for a hole in every bag. So I have to put a small piece of tuck tape to keep each bag from bursting, or leaking… a minor inconvenience overall. Otherwise a 5 Star rating
