An excellent well belt, hammer tacker kit
Very heavy duty belt, and I enjoy the fact that it holds two runs of staples. Completely as advertised an excellent hammer tacker made with heavy enough steel that the staples should not jam.

An excellent piece of kit
The Tacwise A54 Hammer Tacker arrived just in time to be of serious use securing a new breathable membrane under large sections of our slate roof, and really proved its worth. The tool itself feels robust and the overall build quality is pretty good. At one point, while using it on our roofing project, it was dropped from a height of nearly three metres high on a chipboard surface with absolutely no ill effects or damage to the unit. Its next job will be to replace damaged hard board covering, and I am sure rather like with the roofing job this tool will take it in its stride. Unlike other inferior cable tacker’s there is no need to follow up with a hammer to get a flush fitting. The filling of pins/staples is relatively easy and the cartridge carries a sufficient supply. There have been very few misfires and these can be attributed to other causes. As for staple jams, there have been none of these so far. This is a really good piece of kit, from a company that by and large do staple products.

If you are a carpet fitter then you already know all about these and use it day in day out to staple down underlay to timber but it is more useful than this for other DIY tasks.This makes a great tool for fixing roofing felt or membrane – even when working at height you can easily get a good one handed fix to staple in to the boards or rafters. I have also found it valuable for fixing steel mesh to timber before plastering/rendering.I could not see it mentioned in other reviews, but as well as Tacwise 140 staples, Arrow T50 staples are a direct fit for this – this is useful as although Tacwise are the best seller in hammer tackers a lot of people have Arrow trigger staplers (like Arrow T50p Staple Gun Tacker) and so if you add either stapler to your tool kit you still only need to buy one type of staple.Some reviewers have said it is tricky to get the staples exactly where you want them – it is a fair point and if you really need more precision then one of the squeeze trigger staplers (like the Arrow T50p mentioned above) can do this, but this is still essentially as accurate as your own hammering…Strong, reliable tool. Recommended.
