This stud finder is a great value and works well.
We needed to open a wall to install a 2’x2’ attic access door and I could see that electrical wiring was probably in the way of the cut to be done. Also, I wanted to cut the wallboard on the very edge of the stud on each side of the opening so the new access door frame would easily attach to studs on each side.This Stud finder not only showed the stud but very accurately picked the center of each stud for me, and it showed the electrical wiring and even a plumbing pipe.If you follow the directions for this device, you will be happy with it. BTW it cost a whole lot less than the one I bought previously. That one would not work with my new cell phone and even having to use a phone with a stud finder is a pain.So, for many dollars less, we got a stud finder that does all we need it to do and it is accurate, compact and easy to use.

Reliable for studs, not totally sold on the AC and metal mode
The accuracy for studs was pretty spot on. Used it to mount some TVs and have had no issues so far. I am not sold on the AC and metal detection, but it at least made me feel more comfortable while drilling. For the price I got it, I would say the quality is good. Pretty easy to use and comes with a little instruction set. Battery died way faster than I expected, but I did use it all day.This is my first stud finder so take my comments however you’d like!

Absolute junk $15 finder at Home Depot worked better to find studs. If it can’t find studs, I doubt it could wires or pipes. Save your money – don’t buy

Frustrating
I found that it would find a stud through drywall on one pass, I’d pencil mark it, but then on a subsequent pass, it would miss the previous mark. It became frustrating, and caused me to doubt if the first mark was even correct. I did not use it on stucco, metal studs or to find conduit. I’d rate it a “meh” for drywall.
