Stud Scan Detection
This stud mode has three depth stud scanning choices. Deep scan mode scans up to a maximum depth of 1.5 inches (38 mm).
DeepScan mode is a sensitive scanning mode that should be used when there are additional layers for wall panels and panels. To minimize false alarms or other objects behind the wall that may not be studs. Always start scanning at a resolution of 0.5 inches(12mm).
After you detect the center of an object, Please Use Metal Scan to determine if the reading in Stud scan mode was a wood stud, metal stud, or pipe.
Metal Scan Detection
Metal Scan mode detects pipe up to 2.36 inches (60 mm) deep. Jurgen K wall canner will locate metal studs in Stud Scan, Deep Scan, and Metal Scan Modes. Since the stud finder is looking for a change in density behind drywall, not a particular material, in Stud Scan and Deep Scan Modes the detector will react to metal studs the same as it would for wooden studs.
Wire Warning Detection
Wire Warning detection indicates the presence of live, unshielded electrical wiring up to 2 inches (51 mm) deep. For Safety, in all modes, this wall scanner always detects and indicates the Live AC Wire.
Note: Wire Warning Detection works in both StudScan / DeepScan / MetalScan Modes. The WireWarning Detection Icon will flash when live, unshielded wires are detected.
Step 1: SELECTING THE MODE
Press the “Mode button” to turn on the tool. Then press it again to choose five different modes of finding the Stud 1⁄2 in. mode(12mm)/ Stud 1 in. mode(25mm) / Stud 1½ in. mode(38mm)/ Metal / AC Mode. (Press the power button for more than 3s to turn it off).
Step 2: CALIBRATING THE TOOL
Place the TH530 against the wall (Stud /Metal mode)or air(AC mode) first.
Press the Scan button(on the side of the tool) to start calibration this tool but do not move and try to scan at this moment, Wait for the reducing bars to disappear and the buzzer will beep one time and the calibration is completed.
Then you can release the scan button and begin scanning.
Step 3: SCAN THE WALL
After Calibration, move the stud finder along the wall slowly, if you shake or lift the scanner accidentally, the device needs to be re-calibrated.
The narrow on the screen together with the beep signal alter, it means you to find the location of the stud.
Step 4: FIND STUD CENTER
When the signal bar is full and the beep alarm is loudest, it means you have found the center of an object. Mark it with your pencil.
Then choose the Metal Scan mode to test whether it is a metal. After you confirm that it is not a metal, it means that you found the center of a stud. Then you can drill it to hang the thing.

Great stud finder for the price
I’ve been using this stud finder for a couple weeks now, and I found it to be a good product. It is easy to use, operate, and read. The beep voice is pretty loud. I noticed that sometimes calibration can be missed by the device in which case it finds no studs. In these cases, I had to repeat the calibration after which it gave perfect results. I installed three grab bars in the bathroom over the weekend, and the stud finder did a fantastic job at guiding me where to drill on the walls. Even on the tiled wall, it was able to locate the studs.

This level works great! The accuracy has been spot on when I have used it on wood,metal and even locating HVAC ducts!. The tool is lightweight and small enough to fit in your tool belt or box and you can self calibrate it after every use. The too, itself comes with a 9 Volt battery so it’s ready to be used as soon as you open the box! Instructions are included but it’s so simple to use I doubt you will need to use them. I’m very pleased with this purchase!

To be honest, I have no knowledge of carpentry and when a neighbor asked me to help him hang his TV I helped by destroying his walls. This is how I learned about wall studs.This time I know to buy a wall stud finder and after reading the reviews on amazon and looking at the prices I chose the Jurgen K as it had very high ratings, it finds different types of studs at different depths, and based on the price/value relationship.This time it went like a charm. The directions were simple – basically three steps and it worked like a charm. 60 seconds to fi d the studs and their centers, five minutes to drill holes, one minute to screw in the TV wall assembly one minute to put the TV on it, and 15 seconds to plug the TV in.I would have needed to pay my building superintendent $65 to hang the TV so this device has already paid for itself several times over.What’s more, the unit is clearly well constructed and will probably come in useful when our rent increases and we are forced to move – I am resisting the outer boroughs (don’t take offence if you live in Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx, or heaven forbid Staten Island).It was so easy to use that even I didn’t screw up. As for my neighbor, he still talks to me but he hasn’t asked me to help on any other household projects.

Ordered yesterday at 10:30 am. It was delivered to my front porch at 6:08 am this morning. Wow!Product works very well. I thought I knew about where the studs were located, but it found a surprise stud that helped the job.Note…. Several bad reviews said that the provided battery was dead. I thought the same thing until I realized that the battery is covered in a clear plastic wrap. Wonder if those folks missed that.Happy purchaser.

This item works like 75% of the time. When it finds a stud its great. But other times it will fail to find the same stud. As far as stud finders go, it’s probably the best for the price.

Found all the studs in the room but me…
Purchase this to replace my aging stud finder. Shipping was fast and it is very easy to use. Instructions that came with it are easy to understand. Even came with a 9V battery which is a plus. Like other users have mentioned you have to move this slowly across the wall to get an accurate measurement. The AC finder actually works well, and “shows” where the path of the wire goes. Deep scan works well too. Haven’t needed the metal stud scan, but guessing it works as well. I would recommend. Love the fact that I don’t have to hold the button down to scan for studs. That is very annoying when you have to change hands or adjust as you are standing on a ladder on your tippy toes about to fall off and don’t want to let go of the dumb button. This one goes on and stays on.As far as some of others reviews about it not being accurate, make sure to initially start the scan on a known empty space and it works fine. Likewise for the AC, turn it on before touching the wall.

So if you see negative reviews, it’s probably because the user didn’t take the time to learn to use the product correctly. This worked perfectly and correctly right out of the box.

It is rather easy to use. Don’t get me wrong. You will still need to read the manual before using it. The manual text is so small. I would prefer if the manufacturer provides an online version.The stud reading is generally accurate. I can verify scanning in both directions.The wire detection mode does not work in my home. It never reported any wire.And the metal detection mode does not work in my home too. It always report metal whenever I place it near any position of the wall. I have followed the manual to calibrate this mode. But the result is still the same.
