Another broken handle.
Mine arrived with a broken handle, but not as severe as another customer’s review. The plastic was cracked and the handle jammed down a couple of inches. I live in an area where it is a REAL PIA to ship something back, so I pulled the handle back into place, applied a large amount of hot melt glue around the break and put the vacuum into service. The dome top where the handle mounts is part of the exhaust assembly and is not critical to the machine’s sucking operation. Since other customers apparently have had the same issue with a broken handle, I suspect it is happening before or during the product being packaged. The box my item arrived in was not damaged and all appeared well until I noticed the broken handle when I went to take it out of the box. Epoxy would have probably been a more appropriate repair bond. but the hot glue gun was within reach.

Works great in my shop
Works great on sawdust, dirt etc. I even use it with the bag to suck up spent primers from my press. Love that large switch I can find without even looking while turning on and off. I do hope I can find a longer hose option for it. Super powerful. Recommended by this user.

The good news is that this vacuum really sucks
I feel fortunate that I have not experienced what others here have reported. It is perhaps the most powerful vacuum I have had and there have been many as I serviced vacuums as a job many many years ago. The one gripe I had but cannot knock a full star off for is the lack of a swivel on the handle end of the hose. The swivel on the canister end is pretty nigh useless. It works but not like one could wish for. I’ll putz around with it some to see if I can modify it. So for that my rating currently sits at roughly, about, or approximately 4.83177.I have not had it for very long so longevity is yet to be evaluated. It is admittedly a lot of plastic but thus far all intact. I was disappointed that my Shop-Vac expired after only a few years of modest use. Shop-Vacs were synonymous with any vacuum relegated to “shop use” and to not be able find a replacement motor for it for less than what I had paid for the entire unit added to the dismay. So if Stanley could fix the hose issue for future consumers of this product and that it continues to suck as well as it does into the foreseeable future I could bump my numerical rating to a 5 down the road.

Attachments are toy like
The vac itself if okay. I bought it to clean my garage floor of dog hair after grooming my dogs. The cord and hose together aren’t long enough to reach from my plug at one end of the garage to the other end. What’s with putting such a short cord on this vac? There are toy like attachments. The only floor attachment is a squeegee made for cleaning up wet floors. You can take out the rubber squeegee blade but the attachment is too small to use on a floor. Good luck trying to find a larger floor attachment that fits the small suction hose that come with this vac. All the attachments are made from cheap flimsy plastic. I don’t recommend this product but what are you going to do? Just about everything you buy these days is pure junk. UPDATE. The vac just quit. It is about two years old and has just been used for cleaning up my garage so no heavy or frequent use and it just stopped working. Pure junk!!

It works quite well but it’s quite loud, I normally vacuum with earphones so it isn’t a problem for us.Getting it going was super easy, not much assembly required (but you will need a screwdriver to get the wheres on there). For the bag, the instructions are a bit unclear (unless it’s just me!), you have to “wrap” the bag around the inside of the vacuum and push the bag’s opening all the way on the intake. (See picture). It worked fine since. There are some pros and cons:Pros:- It’s powerful, and sucks in whatever we throw at it- It comes with a couple attachments and different hose lengths- It vacuumsCons:- Quite loud (My phone says 75-80db) but it’s probably a similar level to many other vacuum cleaners of that capacity and suction.- Power cord is not the longest and it gets in the way, can easily be solved with an extension and that would be an issue with any wired vacuums- The head does not pivot on the main accessory, which makes some spots a bit more difficult. Never realized it was that useful!

We bought this vacuum because we needed something that would suck up water once in a while. Used it once to suck up water and it worked great. The attachments are easy to use and the vacuum is easy to move around and not too heavy, I was able to hold it up (I’m a little old lady in her 60’s) while my husband had to crawl into a small space to suck up water that had leaked from a water pipe. It worked great. It was easy to clean afterwards, also. Very glad we bought it.
