Survived a snow storm and continues to function as expected.
This is super sturdy and does a great job at providing shadow. Not only that, if angled at more than 15 degrees it will get rid of most of the rain water, given you provide it a corner to run to. Some minor splatter will go through as drops fall (inertia) since it is not fully water proof, nor it needs to be. It will take significant wind and incredible amounts of weight! Long story short: Installed it April 1st in Massachusetts, just to have an ice and snow storm 3 days later. The bend in the center was devastating and I though it would never go back to its original form. I was wrong! As soon as the ice melted and dripped away, the sail went back to its original shape. Great product. Sturdy and reliable. Recommended!

The only reason it isn’t a perfect 5, is because of the stitching on the point where the steel cable connects to itself, is off just a little bit, making the tarp scrunched on one side. Considering the high winds it’s endured (nearing 50 mph gusts), and the fact that it’s never torn or snapped, I’ve considered buying a second to see if it solves the stitching problem I had. Waiting for the first freeze to see how it holds up to ice, but this tarp works excetionally well, and the steel cables helped installation.At this point, my sun shade is still a nice dark brown color, in 100% direct sunlight. Has GREAT shade, and has allowed me to grow a garden in the desert. I looked for this specific size, and this one seemed like the one that had value for the money, and that holds true.(Geez am I still typing?! 🤭)Haha that was a review that was saved in this comment box by Amazon, over a year ago. Now with new storms in 2025, I have a small rip in the sail. After seeing what it can endure, I’m coming back now to replace the (18×20) sail with the same manufacturer.

Instant Gratification
Overnight delivery, replacing an older shade sail that failed along a hem. This one has no hem to reach the full 12 feet, whereas the old one was two pieces sewn together. I hung it up to the same anchors and have to admit that I was worried about the wrinkles and sags, but a couple of days later they are mostly smoothed out. The green is a bit on the bright side. The instructions supplied were for a different product. This one doesn’t have D rings, but rather a perimeter cable technique that seems like it might be an improvement. Time will tell about durability, as UV protected fabrics in my experience can vary greatly in longevity.

Bought it to test durability and so far is working, Waiting for the 10×16 size price to come down.
Very strong sail shade, I bought this size because it was a very low price to test if it was reliable and strong to endure Caribbean sun and winds. So far is working flawlessly. I am using 316 Stainless cable with 316 turnbuckle very tight and sail is stiff as a diving board. The size i needed was a 10x 16 but price was too high because it is considered a custom size, like almost $300 when a 16×16 is $100, so i opted for 8×12 until the 10x 16 price comes down. So far i have waited more than a year without any luck. I have the unit covered by a 10 x 16 cream sail shade so probably it have not received the full blast of the sun and probably it looks new because of that.

Fabric doesn’t last in Arizona sun.
The cables and corners are very sturdy, bur the fabric only lasted a little over a year in the Arizona sun. They did step up and send me a warranty replacement, so we’ll see how long that lasts.

It protects well, I liked it. This is the third one I’ve installed. 2 for my cars and 1 for the boat. So far it’s lasting. I only remove it when hurricanes pass. I remove it and put it back in for about five minutes.

Because of the size I had to use some heavy duty attachments to our home and the building, so make sure when you install one of these at your anchor points are very strong. This is been up for over 6 months and it’s been really wonderful to provide a place to work out of the Florida Sun.
