Buy if doing a renovation, see review
put this in when finishing the staircase wall and that made this project look so clean.Ran the wires through the wall. The instructions are not laid out very well, but definitely good enough to get through this project. It is terrifying to snip the lights to fit the handrail, but as long as you cut along the copper bit, it works as it should. All the wiring drops to under under the staircase, which I bundled together with zip ties inside an electrical box to keep clean. Then I secured the controller to the wall. It’s all out of sight. The lights I believe were 12 feet long and had wire connectors at the end to extend the lighting if you needed a super-long staircase light. There are so many LED lights that you do not need a screen to diffuse the light. The lights “flows” very naturally. I ran the electrical through the wall during a renovation and have the motion detectors at the top and bottom steps.

Looks like a gently water wave
My husband installed this to look like blue water waves. This is fabulous since our home is ocean themed. Looks so cool while also being functional!

Difficult to install
I’ve had this set for some time now and am still waiting for a free weekend that I can devote to install them. The instructions aren’t much help; the video is better. For example, where to put the sensors? There’s no indication which way they should face, nor how high they should be. There’s going to be a lot of trial and error. Plus, I’m going to have to drill some holes to get the wires to the right places, and I need to make sure I don’t make any mistakes there. They could look great if done well, or really bad if I don’t get it right the first time.

To get this to work.
Can someone help me figure out how to turn the controller on after plugging it in. All wires are connected properly. The voltage meter in the picture was purchased to see if the controller had power. I have it plugged in and get no digital display. What am I missing?
