Great product all around for a reasonable price.
Really liking this product and very happy with it. Having a couple built-in bubble levels would be nice to ensure levelness during laser use, though. I might Blu-Tack a couple on.Measurements seem spot on as far as accuracy, and register very quickly (near instantaneously). Also, battery life is great, at least for my probably typical home use needs. Mine came showing a 3 out of 4 bar charge level and a month and a half later, it’s still showing the same level and going strong, never having been charged by me. I purchased this just before a move to help plan out layouts, wall hanging planning and placement, and furniture needs and it’s been perfect in all areas.Actual tape measure is very sturdy and easy to read, as is the display for laser readings. Housing for the tool is both easy to handle and nice feeling, and seems to offer a good level of protection against bumps and drops.

I love this digital tape measure!
We got this digital laser tape measure in advance of a shower remodel project we were doing at the house. For most of the project I used the regular tape, it’s a very nice quality tape. It’s a little on the thin side, so if you’re doing longer lengths you might want a wider tape. But the tab on it is really nice and it moves smoothly to accommodate for both measurement styles. When I needed the laser measure, it worked flawlessly. This thing has a ton of options, and you can see the last 3 measurements you’ve made. If you need to calculate square footage or volume it has a function for that. It has Pythagorean functions, too. And you can choose whether to measure from the back side or the front side where the laser beam is.I like it because it just charges with USB C like most of my other devices. I never had to recharge it for the entire project and it took about 10 days.

The Best of Both Worlds: Laser & Traditional Tape Measure
Durable and rugged. The functionality of a manual tape measure up to 16ft and a laser measure up to 197ft. The product does not give a digital measurement when using the traditional manual tape measure. Multiple units of measure and you can save up to 4 measurements to avoid having writing each measurement and can also give you the actual square footage for the area you are measuring. The tape measure also comes with a very informative manual in which every function is explained in great detail and easy to follow instructions. Long lasting battery life and be charged with a USB-C charging cord.

Horrible instructions, OK tape measure
Instructions on this thing are terrible. I had to watch a youtube video for another brand to understand that the very first button function to adjust is whether it is measuring from the front or back of the tape measure. I think whoever wrote the instructions thinks the end user is a professional contractor or something – it literally goes into detail about using the tape measure for pythagorean measurements, but the blurb about this fundamental function never actually says “from the front of the tape measure” or “back of the tape measure” – it calls it front basis to back basis, which now I understand but like as a noob who the heck would know what that means. I thought it was off be three inches and was actually trying to figure out how to calibrate it when I learned that. Once that was understood, it still was actually only off by .1 inches. Still to this moment though, I still have no idea how to calibrate it. The instructions say to press the MEAS button until it displays CAL and to use the side buttons to +/- the measurement. Well no amount of pressing, holding, fast clicking, slow clicking, whatever ever displayed “CAL”. After taking about two dozen measurments though, it did seem to autocorrect from 36.1 to 36.0 inches. I suppose I’ll just never know how to calibrate the thing and always question the reliability of the laser measurement. This tape is NOT for an everyday home user.

Ordinarily I’m not a big fan of fancy gadgets replacing simple tools that work perfectly well, but this laser/measuring tape combo is winning me over.Firstly, the standard measuring tape works just fine and is actually very nice quality. The lock and retention are effortless and the mini magnets mounted into the hook actually stay put on steel when you draw out the tape. The tape is marked on both sides. The top side has both inches and metric. The inches are in 1/16″ increments. On the bottom the metric is the same as the top, but the inches are not in 1/32 increments, which I think is very handy and makes it easier to read. The tape retracts smoothly.The laser measurement works very well and is pretty easy to use, once you go through the included instruction manual. One reviewer complained he couldn’t access calibration mode, which I had problems with at first, too. The manual gives the impression you should hold down both the “off/clear” button and also the “meas” button simultaneously. That doesn’t work.To get into laser calibration mode, hold down the “off/clear” button and just press the “meas” button once. Voila — you’re in calibration mode. Hope that helps someone who’s having difficulty.The many functions of the laser are easy to get to and pretty clear to know which is which from the simple display. I haven’t played with all of them yet, but if you just need the basic linear function, you don’t even need the manual to figure it out.Overall, this measuring tool feels very solid. It’s useful and not just a cheap gimmick. I’m not sure if it would survive a fall off a 10′ ladder, but I’d say that it’s about as sturdy as they can make it for the price. Sure, it could be made indestructable, but then it would probably also cost $500. I’m pretty careful with tools in general and don’t throw them around, so for me, I think this will be fine.Lastly, this is surprisingly compact, considering it combines a measuring tape and laser distance unit in one. The belt clip is good, and it comes with a wrist strap, with helps to protect from accidental drops. I really like the fact that it is USB-C rechargeable. The battery seems to last a long time. I haven’t emptied it yet.Overall, I think this will be a very handy tool to have once I learn all its features. But even as just a plain old measuring tape, it’s quite good.
