Great concept, but not a fix all.
First impressions, great aid in certain situations, but not a revolutionary game changer.Overview: assembly took about 15 minutes and I’m guy that’s mechanically inclined so I recommend following the instructions as it’s not as intuitive as you’d think. The securement straps leave a lot to be desired as they only attach with hooks and are cumbersome to attach and takes several minutes to secure and adjust (hence the removal of one star). Once attached, it is a little awkward to move around, but it shines when you kneel. As described in the description, it forces you into a straight back position (great for posture) and takes the stress off your back. The down side is that the height of the “butt” support isn’t adjustable or wide enough for uhhh American sized posteriors to make long periods kneeling a tad “uncomfortable”.My wife and I are anxiously awaiting a chance to use in the garden and outdoor projects. As I mentioned, it is purpose built and not suited for every task particularly those requiring kneeling for long periods, but it will excel for short duration or repeated kneeling and standing.

I have bone spurs that make it hard for me to kneel on hard surfaces, so I thought this would be great for working in the garden or doing tasks around the house. Unfortunately, it’s just kind of ridiculous.I can’t wear this to walk three feet, much less walk around while doing other things. In the images, it looks as if the knee pad and the metal brace/seat are connected, but they really aren’t. There is a small hook on an elastic band that is supposed to connect the two, but it’s like trying to attach it with a rubber band—it falls out instantly as soon as you move.Another big issue is that the knee pad is too large to fit between the two metal brackets, as it appears in the product photos. So even if I could wear it while walking, I wouldn’t be able to bend down properly because it doesn’t fit through. The third problem is that even when adjusted to the shortest distance, it is far too long for my leg, and I have a 34-inch inseam.I basically put this on once before I completely abandoned it. This is not a good value, and it is not a functional piece of equipment.

Works well with some extra sewing steps
I kept bouncing back and forth between three stars and four stars and I’m leaning towards four stars because I did some modifications to make this work well.If you watch my video you’ll see how this is two distinct pieces. You have the knee pad, which is actually a very nice and sturdy knee pad. And then you have the brace with the seat attachment. You put on the knee pad, and then you use elastic straps to strap the brace to the knee pad. It’s not all one piece. Therefore, the brace slides around and makes it difficult to walk. The seat is there for when you want to kneel, so this would be very handy if you’re in a situation where you are only standing and kneeling. But if you’re doing a project like me, where you are going back and forth from the saw, to your lumber pile, to your work area, then this does nothing for you. It’s just really really annoying.Luckily for me, I’m also a bit of a seamstress. So I was able to sew the elastic straps onto the knee pad. Now when I walk around, the entire mechanism is secure. And if you want to go through the same trouble, then this is really worth it.It comes in a pretty small box, and you do have to assemble some screws to put it all together. And I had that done in a few minutes. But if you want something that’s truly useful, then either have some duct tape ready to go, or if you want to do it right have a needle and thread. After my extra sewing assembly, this is a five-star item.
