Next Level Lighting Control Keypad
When I first heard about this keypad coming out, I got super excited and I was one of the first recipients when it became available. The product works as expected and it didn’t disappoint. You can program the top 2 keys to perform multiple different scenes as you wish. The only draw back is that you need to setup both a scene On and a separate scene Off (to turn a scene off)! I have it setup that one of the buttons turns everything off when I go to bed, but it can be programmed anyway you want it. If you use the new Cync smart light bulbs, they can be controlled using this Keypad too. Did I mention that this is Matter compatible which is future proof, although I just set it up using the Cync app. The app gives you tons of scheduling capabilities to set multiple on and off times daily and weekly. Overall it can’t be beat for features given its reasonable price. This coupled with the Cync Dimmer switch, is an unbeatable combination for a robust smart home lighting setup.

Matter and Home Assistant compatibility flawless
Love this light switch! I performed the Matter device commissioning into Apple Home (can be done on any Matter eco-system.. I just prefer Apple for initial device commissioning for it’s so smooth and is the most compatible I’ve used thus far across all manufacturers).. I then shared/copied the Matter code generated from Apple Home and then commissioning the Matter device into Home Assistant.. Works flawlessly.. The big button by default is on/off.. I then set button 2 and 3 (the smaller ones) to trigger a Govee light scene I have within Home Assistant via Govee’s LAN API.. Really slick. All local LAN… This allows the button on the switch to trigger Govee lights and scenes.. But.. It could be to triggered any device, script, scene, or automation in Home Assistant or your choice of Matter compatible system.. Really slick.. I just happen to use it to trigger Govee via Home Assistants MQTT LAN API integration.. Endless options though…

Inexpensive and very functional Matter dimmer
This switch body is fairly compact for a smart dimmer and has clear wire labeling. The body feels sturdy and much more solid than the normal hardware store paddles.The paddle only toggles down, so you’ll have to retrain your muscle memory when turning your lights on. The paddle does have a satisfying click to it though and the light responds instantly.The dimmer slider adjusts smoothly and very easily (maybe a little too easily). Since you can adjust brightness via App there can sometimes be a discrepancy between where the slider is physically set and the light output. Whenever you next adjust the dimmer physically the brightness will jump to that slider percentage.It was trivial connecting it to Apple Home via Matter. I just scanned the QR code and waited for it to join. I never even had to enter my wifi password.I wondered if I might be missing some functionality so I downloaded the Cync app. The app does let you upgrade firmware, adjust the dimmer status LED brightness (among other things). However, if you already have the dimmer setup via Matter this connection gets severed when using the Cync app. I had to factory reset the dimmer to setup in Apple Home again. It seems the Cync app and Matter support are mutually exclusive.All in all, I am happy with the switch. It is very good value for money and if I hadn’t bothered with the Cync app my only frustration with this switch would have been alleviated.

Great integration with SmartThings
Great switch. Works natively with SmartThings without having to install the GE app. SmartThings recognizes the extra buttons and routines can be built on tap, double tap, hold, etc.

A massive improvement over my old smart switches
I got these to replace some old Belkin WEMO switches that Belink is saying won’t work anymore next year. The first thing I wanted was MATTER support. Now, the switch connects directly to my Alexa without needing the internet—just local WiFi. If I had a Google or Apple smart speaker, it would work just as well, giving me great flexibility for the future without worrying about a company cutting support.The installation was super easy because the smart switches I was replacing used the same wiring. After cutting power, it took under 10 minutes to install. The instructions were great, and I still made sure to read them carefully to make sure everything was set up correctly. If you’re not familiar with wiring, it’s best to have an electrician do it for extra safety.The buttons can be programmed with the GE app, but unfortunately, this only works with the GE app, not Alexa. I don’t mind too much because the main living area already has GE switches, and I can use one button to turn on the lights in the living room and kitchen when I get home and another to turn them off when I leave. The best part is that since I installed them, they’ve always responded instantly to an Alexa command.I have more to replace, but after getting these dimmers, I’m planning to get more from this line. I’m just hoping we see a on/off switch using MATTER from them soon.
