Great brush for staining decks!
This Foxtrot 7-inch deck stain brush works really well. It’s wide, sturdy, and applies the stain smoothly and evenly. The handle is comfortable, and it makes the job faster and easier. Perfect for decks, fences, and large surfaces — great quality for the price!

Useful especially for rough wood
They work great for staining rough wood such as a rail fence or an old barn. They are inexpensive and wide, which makes the work go more quickly. I wrap it in plastic between staining sessions and throw it away when the project is done.

Perfect and light
So glad I got this brush for staining dock boards. I was a little concerned when I opened the package and saw how small it was compared to one of the much larger ones I got for deck earlier this year, but it was perfect and light, did an excellent job just as well, and fit on the extension pole too. Comes with a little handle should you wish to hold it by hand instead of a pole.

This was better than spraying for me
I found this brush to be a much better method for staining my deck than spraying. After sanding off a layer of deck paint with a floor sander and using wood brightener, this was a pretty easy way to finish my deck project.I poured my stain into a 5 gallon bucket, attached my push broom’s handle to the brush, and started staining. The brush held enough stain to cover 2 board widths to between 2 and 3 feet per dip. Since my deck was freshly sanded, the first coat took longer and was absorbed more by the wood, but this brush was perfect for the job.The 2nd coat used much less stain and I was able to cover about 5 board widths up to 2 or 3 feet per dip. Had plenty of stain left over after the 2nd coat.Overall, it took me about an hour to do both coats (with 20 minutes of dry time between coats) on a 15×25 ft deck. I feel like the brush covered the deck very well with stain.I’ll definitely use this again the next time I need to stain my deck.

Great brush.
I seldom write product reviews but after using this brush I have to tell others how good it is. I normally use a roller to stain my decks but this time I decided to try this brush and am glad i did. It was fast, spread evenly using less stain, and easily got in the cracks between the boards. The brush handle is threaded and 6 inches long so I traded it for a 16 inch handle making it comfortable to work while sitting on a 12 inch step stool. Highly recommend this brush.

Buyer beware. Not what’s shown in the photos, very weak.
Product photos show screws around the metal banding. They are nails, very, very small nails that don’t hood. The brush broke on my 4th push. I’ve stained this deck 4 times in 10 years and have never broken a brush. I had to fabricate a wood piece to fit, drill new holes around the banding and then use screws to hold the wood block in place. Attached the plastic handle then got through two coats of stain on 950 square feet of deck. It is very poorly put together, not secured by screws as shown in all the photos.

Expensive but really well. Tried bushes, rollers, pads and even sprayers but found that this on the end of a broom handle was the easiest to use, provided the most control and allowed me to really focus where the stain would go (between boards, in knots etc) unlike a pad. Very easy to clean and much easier on the back compared with other types of applicators.
