Why can “JINYU-SEGA” bench support a heavy weight?
Our design uses “shear force” instead of “pull-out force” to support weight. Pulling a fixture fixed with hollow wall anchors from 1/2″ gyp board is easy, but pushing it straight down shows it’s very secure. Try it—you’ll be impressed by its strength
What should I use to fill the bench?
Use “dry pack” deck mortar to fill the bench. Avoid Thin-Set mortar. Mix 4 parts sand with 1 part cement, or use pre-bagged mortar mix available at tile stores, lumber yards, or hardware stores under names like mason mix, brick mortar, or deck mud.
Is it necessary to attach to wood studs or add blocking?
No! JINYU-SEGA Bench is designed for a 450 LB load capacity with the provided hollow wall anchors. However, you might encounter wood framing or prefer to connect to it. In such cases, discard the hollow wall anchors and use the included pan screws.
When should I install the bench?
JINYU-SEGA Bench products are versatile. Install them over finished tile or, ideally, mount them directly to the substrate before tiling. For convenience, mount the bench when you reach the desired tile course, then finish tiling around it.
Do I need to tile under the bench?
Tiling the bottom of the large or medium bench isn’t needed as it’s low and not visible. The aluminum won’t rust or corrode and is easy to clean. If desired, tile with metal bonding mastic. Ensure the weep hole is clear for moisture to escape.

Ya need a shower foot stool? This one is solid (pun intended)
Installed 4 months ago and feels sturdy. The hole placement worked well for putting it in studs. We put 2×4 in between studs with brackets to really try and make sure this will hold. Feels rock solid.
