Update on my initial review: I’ve been using these exact bags for over 2 years now, making certain I never run out. I don’t have to be selective during disposal-if not a recyclable item then it gets tossed in bag regardless of weight or sharpness- never had a bag to rip. I fill the bags so full that the drum has to be secured while I tug on the bag, shimmying it from side to side. That is where the flaps come in handy- large enough to get a good grip, and they also prevent the bag from sliding down since they fold over the side of the 55gal drum even when the opposite end of bag is touching the bottom of drum.These fit my 55 gal drum perfectly, and the flaps for tying are an added bonus. Super-duper strong and the price reasonable! You will not be disappointed by any aspect of these bags!

Got these to do heavy duty branch, lead, etc yard clean-up. VERY heavy & thick so can hold a lot and also be used multiple times to take to Town recycle center to dump out & reuse. They don’t tear like reg trash bags. The best we have had in a long time – and they are made in the USA!

Use these bags for landfill trash.
Very thick and do not rip or tear easily. Don’t use for leaves or the yard. Landfill trash. Fit a 40-45 gallon trash can with edges of bad over edge of trash can tight.

Why did I buy these 55 gallon bags?
I need these as part of an emergency kit. They can readily be a raincoat, an in the car sleep sack, a ground cloth, or even be made into a rain fly or a tent (bivy sack). So this is a cheap alternative to buying all those separate items. Lightweight, packable, and reasonably durable.These bags are great for garbage, but for me that is a last possible use. Watch a couple of YouTube videos on their survival use for this product, then you will want to have a few on hand, too!
