Safety glasses are cheap, eye injuries are expensive. Way too frequently I've found myself using scratched up safety glasses that are hard to see through just because I didn't have a backup pair. Since I wear them for work as well as when I'm in the garage, I end up going through a few pairs.
I decided that I'd always keep a few pairs of safety glasses in stock. These were inexpensive, have good reviews, and carry the ANSI Z87.1 impact certification, at least in theory. The lenses are clear and blemish free. They're also way lighter and more comfortable than the giant monsters my job will give me. I'll buy my own, thank you just the same.
No, they don't last forever, and even putting them in and out of the padded container I have on my work bag for safety glasses will scratch them over time. But since I'm paying a little over $1 a pair, who cares? It's really annoying to try to see fine details through a scratched up lens (or even worse, to go without safety glasses because you ran out). At this price, I can make sure I don't run out.

EDIT #2: (April/30/2019)
-I have now ordered an received another box of clear lenses. All of them are clear with no distortion. Still have a few unused pairs of both the blue and the previous clear lenses. Some of them I did manage to break at the bridge, but these still hold up better than most others I have bought even at higher price ranges. I do like the Jackson nemesis line which are more comfortable, but they do not offer any more durability than the Bison. For the price these stay at 5 stars for me.

– I was contacted by the customer service team and they arranged to ship out a new box of 12 in exchange for the defective box. Return shipping label was included. I received them yesterday and opened the package today. I have opened and tested two pairs checking for distortion. So far the new lenses are flawless, and I am very happy with customer service. I have purchased the blue transparent safety glasses from this company in the past and still have some unopened pairs. They last a little while longer than average and are not easily broken. I am by no means gentle with safety glasses. They get tossed into my toolbox, trunk, or backpack and get smashed, and twisted, and pressed up against many things that would damage poorly made pairs. A problem I have with a lot of brands is the temple or the bridge breaks after a few months. I have not managed to break a single pair from this brand. I can once again stand behind this company and recommend them to people I know. It's one thing to recommend a product to people through a review service, but being able to recommend to people that I see on a regular basis takes more confidence in the good or service. I'm glad to know that this company stands behind their product and makes an effort to correct errors on their part.
– I use the transparent blue for TIG welding, automotive, general contracting work, and yard work.
– I will use the clear lenses for MIG and Stick welding as well as the others mentioned above.

THIS ITEM IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RETURN! I have bought the blue shaded safety glasses in the past and they were great. Gave them 5 stars. I needed clear for welding and cannot use these at all. Cant see the puddle clearly do to a distortion in the lenses. These CLEAR lenses are NOT SAFE for industrial work. I cant even use these to do automotive work. Anytime I need to visually focus on something I get a headache. If you are doing work with chemicals or anything that requires reading you will do well to purchase the transparent colored lenses or a different brand for clear lenses. The only thing this would be good for is yard work. It is strange that the colored transparent lenses provide more clarity than the clear lenses. Disappointing at best.
