Lightweight Stapler w/Interesting Magazine
Lightweight, but still heavy enough to fully seat 1/2″-5/8″ staples. Hopefully the magnesium holds up!

Very nice heavy duty hammer stapler. The build quality, weight and feel are excellent.
Very nice heavy duty hammer stapler. The build quality, weight and feel are excellent. The one not so big downside is that they did not incorporate is any type of end hole or loop that would have enabled the ability to hang on a hook or pegboard so minus the one star. It does not take away from the actual job of the tool which is great but as a preference it would have made this tool a 12 out of 10. I will either drill a small hole in the end handle or incorporate a facility for enabling hanging the tool.

Great for Its Intended Uses
This hammer tacker weighs in at 1 pound 6 ounces without staples inside. The method of loading of staples wasn’t obvious to me at first, so I showed where the staples go in the attached video. I found it difficult to get 3/8″ staples to drive flush into a pine 2×4, and then went down to 1/4″ staples with better results. There is no adjustment for driving depth on this tacker. If you are doing roofing tacking tar paper or putting up insulation, driving staples flush every time is not an issue, so it should work well for those applications. I don’t recommend this tool for many other uses. Ergonomically, using this hammer tacker is so much better than a manual stapler, and it doesn’t require a cord like an electric stapler does, so it has definite advantages for its intended use cases. I was able to drive a lot of staples quickly with this, but not with a lot of precision. It seems robust enough to hold up for a long time.

Can’t use it as a hammer tacker, you have to be gentle or it will pop open and lose all the staples.
As a siding contractor that installs a ton of house wrap, I need a hammer tacker that I can smack on the wall swiftly and with some oomph. I cannot do that with this tacker. I have to use it gingerly or the back pops open and all of the staples fall out. However, when using it gingerly, the staples don’t set in all the way, so all in all, this is useless. I will try to find a way to keep the thing shut and keep using it. The good thing is that it is very light, and it did withstand a fall from 20 feet to the soft muddy ground. Until they fix the issue, I would not recommend buying this hammer tacker.
