Fastener clips ok. Screws not ok
Look. I’ve been a carpenter for 45 years.The screws that were sent are too short., and have a small diameter shank. We are fastening 1” trex exterior decking. Camo fasteners are similar in size and style , but camo/trex screws are probably 3/8” of an inch longer than the screws that came with the muzata product. Also , I need to buy Phillips screw driver with a small diameter shank as the spacing on the muzata clips will not afford you to drive the tiny screw in without damaging the face of the trex decking.I would surmise that in a few seasons the screws will loosen up from the joists. What I’m going to do is buy new screws similar to the trex screws.To all the deck builders and homeowners this is a real pain as many already know, the fastening, and framing system for trex is probably 40 percent longer than a standard wood deck.Muzata gave me a good price, but out of pocket I will have to buy different screws.Not a happy camper.Now, I received the Muzata product via Amazon shipping. My question to Muzata is :”Are you going to reimburse the $60.00 I spent for longer screws, due to the fact that the screws muzata sent are inferior?

These pieces work fine, but they do require a hammer tap to squeeze them in the grooves of the composite boards.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Unfortunately my husband missed the return window. The screws are bad, strip easily and do not hold. Very disappointed and now we have two bags of these just sitting in our shed.

The screw heads are Philips not the typical t15. This means the Philips head is to big for the space between the boards and creates some damage. Also, the screws are not already in the spacers creating more work. I wouldn’t buy again just because there are better products to use. But if nothing else is avaliable, it will do. Oh also the spaces are not as wide as the others to cover the joist.

They worked out good but the screws are way to small or the hole in the clip is to big. The screws go right through it if you do not watch when screwing them down.

The price was good and the product worked okay. Problems were the Phillips head screws. They stripped out easily and it was difficult to find a phillips driver small enough to fit between the boards without scarring. The plastic blocks were soft, and it was easy to drive the screw head through too far. The screws are short, but that’s what we wanted.If you’re not worried about install time and you’re careful, I recommend it due to price.
